Project brief.
Document the transformation of the historic Bodmin Jail site into a contemporary hotel, with particular emphasis on the architectural scale of the conversion and the use of natural slate across the development.

Purpose.
The commission was undertaken for SSQ Natural Slate as a dedicated project case study. The imagery needed to demonstrate the visual qualities of the slate while placing the material within the context of a substantial and architecturally significant commercial project.
Deliverables.
A combination of architectural, aerial photography and video content, capturing the hotel, its wider setting, architectural features and slate roof from both detailed and elevated viewpoints.
Outcome.
A distinctive visual case study giving SSQ Natural Slate a strong example of its material being used within a major heritage-led development. Aerial imagery adds an understanding of the project's exceptional scale, while the photography and video provide flexible content for marketing, portfolio use and annual award submissions.
