Architecture shaped by its setting.

Architecture shaped by its setting.

Where architecture, landscape and light come together to create a distinctive sense of place.

Alfold Gardens brings together contemporary residential architecture and a considered landscape setting, creating homes designed around a strong relationship with their surroundings.

ProfotoDesign was commissioned to create photography that captures the character of the development beyond its individual buildings — exploring the architecture, materials, landscape and quality of light that define the experience of the place.

The photography presents Alfold Gardens as both a collection of homes and a cohesive architectural environment, creating imagery that communicates its design quality, atmosphere and sense of place.

Understand.

Read the relationship between architecture and landscape.

Residential architecture is experienced at a human scale. The way a building meets the landscape, frames a view and responds to natural light can be as important as the structure itself.

Understanding Alfold Gardens meant looking at those relationships as a whole — how the homes sit within their setting, how materials respond to changing light and how landscape helps define the character of the development.

The approach was to photograph the architecture as it is experienced: through movement, views, thresholds and moments of connection between inside and outside.

Interpret.

Translate material, light and landscape into a visual language.

The role of the photographer is not simply to record the completed architecture, but to interpret what makes a place distinctive.

For Alfold Gardens, that meant looking for the qualities that give the development its identity — the relationship between built form and landscape, the rhythm of materials, the changing quality of natural light and the spaces between buildings.

The resulting imagery balances architectural clarity with atmosphere, creating a visual narrative that communicates both the design of the homes and the experience of living within them.

Create.

Images that give the development a distinctive identity.

The final photography creates a considered visual identity for Alfold Gardens, designed to communicate the quality and character of the development across marketing, communications and the wider life of the project.

Rather than simply documenting individual properties, the imagery presents Alfold Gardens as a complete environment — connecting architecture, landscape and lifestyle through a coherent visual language.

The result is a body of imagery designed to remain useful beyond launch: supporting the development's identity while creating a lasting visual record of the architecture and its setting.
